Meet FAITH ECUMENICAL INSTITUTE (FEI)
At long last, after many short-term lecture series and weekend retreats, the mainline ecumenical community in Arizona finally has a sustained “college” of Religious Studies. It is called FAITH ECUMENICAL INSTITUTE, housed in the renovated chapel at Faith Lutheran Church, 7th Street and Camelback, and featuring college level courses in contemporary theology. Its vision is to add “soul to the secular,” to leaven society without legislating it. All high school graduates of any age and all denomination are invited to enroll. Classes began on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 21, 2014 from 4:00-5:30 PM. This is a broad new initiative. Get in on the ground floor.
Faith Ecumenical Institute (FEI) is an independent corporately owned and operated education institution on a college or university level, open to anyone with at least a high school diploma or GED, without regard to age, gender or church affiliation. The school is located on the campus of Faith Lutheran Church. 801 E. Camelback Rd. in Phoenix, AZ
Only religion-related subjects are explored, taught by experienced and qualified instructors. A typical semester schedule consists of 12 90-minute class periods, one per week, starting annually in September or January. At present it remains unaccredited, but offers Certificates of Achievement designed to assist graduates in pursuit of advanced study in seminaries or other programs preparing individuals for professional church - related careers. Our target student clientele includes anyone of post high school age and achievement who sense his or her own need and desire for increased religious stabilization and inspiration.
The tuition cost is a very affordable $100.00 per course per semester, payable in advance, but with financing available. Congregational leaders, Church school teachers, and all lay persons interested in advanced, academically oriented religious studies are invited to enroll.
